Post-doctoral Position in Behavioral Immunobiology
A post-doctoral position is available at the Institute of Medical Psychology and Behavioral Immunobiology, University Hospital Essen, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany to investigate the efferent and afferent communication pathways between the CNS and the peripheral immune system in rodents and humans. In particular, the research group is focusing on the mechanisms and clinical relevance of behaviorally conditioned immunopharmacological effects.
The candidate should have a strong background in neuropsychology, neurobiology, molecular biology and/or immunology. Good communication skills, high motivation and the ability to work independently are highly desired. The candidate will have considerable freedom to develop related research and is expected to participate in research grant preparation, manuscript writing and presentation of research results at professional conferences.
The temporary employment will be for a period of three years with a possible prolongation of a second three year period. The monthly gross salary will be according to the Medical Faculty salary scales.
